"Unlocking Westwood's Full Potential."

Nick Vidnovic with his children

I grew up in a town a lot like Westwood — where strong public schools, town sports, and a real sense of community set kids up for success. That foundation propelled me to Harvard, to Wharton, and to a career where I now run my own business helping companies grow across the country.

Our family moved to Westwood to raise our three children. We love the people and community in town.

I'm running because I believe we can — and should — expect the full potential of Westwood Schools. I'll bring the same pragmatic, results-driven approach I use every day in business: set clear goals, measure progress, and hold leadership accountable.

Our children have attended Hanlon / Pine Hill over the past four years. My wife Amy is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and has served on the Pine Hill PTO board for several years. I coach soccer, assistant coach hockey, co-coordinate the Pine Hill Math League, and have served on the district's Portrait of a Graduate committee. Our family is deeply committed to Westwood's success.

Four Priorities for Westwood Schools

I'm not running to tear anything down — I'm running to raise the bar. Here's where I'll focus.

1

Raise Math & STEM Standards

Our math scores across many levels, especially middle school, trail the comparable districts that Westwood competes with for families. I'll push to accelerate the K-12 math curriculum audit, benchmark against top-performing peers, and set measurable goals to close the gap.

2

Fund Our Schools

Westwood's schools have been funded below level services for each of the last three years. Our teachers and staff are the backbone of this district, and they need the resources to do their jobs. I pledge to work to achieve a schools budget that preserves or expands funding for teachers — and I pledge not to support a budget where that commitment isn't met.

3

Fix the Middle School

Parents and data both flag the middle school as the weakest link. I'll advocate for a thorough review of curriculum, culture, and the elementary-to-middle transition that's causing scores to drop. I also fully support the new middle school building project — and as a business owner, I'll ensure it's delivered on time and on budget at a cost taxpayers can support.

4

Transparency & Communication

Parents deserve to know what's happening in our schools — and to be heard before decisions are made, not after. Too many parents feel administration isn't responsive to their concerns. I'll push for annual "State of the Schools" reports with published MCAS peer comparisons, open forums before major policy changes, and real accountability when parents raise concerns. Transparency isn't a nice-to-have — it's the foundation everything else is built on.

I'll Also Champion:

Enrichment for Every Student

Too many kids fall in the "middle" — not on IEPs, not identified as gifted, but capable of more with the right challenge. I'll push for differentiated instruction and enrichment tracks across subjects.

Phones Down, Focus Up

The overwhelming majority of parents oppose phone access at school. I'll support and strengthen district-wide phone-free policies.

Extended Day for Every Family

Eliminate the aftercare lottery. Westwood is a dual-income town — every family that needs extended day should have access.

Student Well-Being

Strengthen anti-bullying enforcement, improve school lunch quality, and maintain mental health resources.
